Muscatine County Fair

The Muscatine County Fair is held annually at the Muscatine County Fairgrounds in West Liberty, drawing thousands of visitors from across Muscatine County for friendly competition, entertainment, and family fun. First held in 1852, the fair remains a beloved summer tradition for the region.

The fair begins on the third Wednesday of July and runs through Sunday. In 2026, the fair will take place July 15–19. Throughout the week, visitors can enjoy a wide variety of competitions hosted by 4-H clubs and National FFA Organization, along with open-class competitions available to participants of all ages. Exhibits and contests range from art and baked goods to vegetables and livestock shows, many of which are open for the public to watch and enjoy.

Fairgoers can also experience a daily carnival filled with rides, games, and activities for the whole family, along with a wide variety of food and drink options. Each evening concludes with a Grandstand Event, featuring crowd favorites such as racing, tractor pulls, live music performances, and the ever-popular trailer races.

Kent Center Event Space

While the Fair is the highlight of the year, the Muscatine County Fairgrounds serve the community year-round, hosting events such as car races, dances, bingo nights, and more.

One of the newest additions to the grounds is the Kent Center Event Space, a modern facility offering 8,400 square feet of main event space with seating for up to 500 guests, making it one of the largest event venues in Muscatine County.

The Kent Center’s spacious and flexible layout makes it ideal for weddings, conferences, reunions, and celebrations of all kinds. Modern amenities include Wi-Fi, audiovisual technology, climate control, and dedicated on-site staff to help ensure every event runs smoothly.
