The 2026 Fair Parade and Picnic in the Park celebration will be held Sunday, July 12, right before the Muscatine County Fair (July 15-19). This annual celebration in West Liberty will bring out community members from all over Muscatine County!

Muscatine County Fair Parade

The Muscatine County Fair Parade is open to everyone in Muscatine County to both participate and watch, as the kickoff for the weeklong Muscatine County Fair. The parade begins at 2pm.

The parade includes Business and Organization Floats, 4-H/FFA Floats, U.S. Military and Veterans, Emergency Equipment (Firetrucks, Ambulances, Police Cars), Fair Queen Candidates, ATVs, Large Farm Equipment, Antique Tractors, Antique Cars and Trucks, Horses and candy… lots and lots of candy!

It is free to be in the parade, if you or your business/organizations would like to participate please fill out this form and mail it the West Liberty Chamber of Commerce at PO Box 350, West Liberty. The form includes additional information.

Route: Starts at the Muscatine County Fairgrounds, East onto First St., North onto Calhoun St., West onto Maxson Ave., South onto Elm St., Southwest onto Prairie St., South on Walnut St., East back onto Fairgrounds.

Picnic in the Park

West Liberty’s Picnic in the Park celebration will be held in Kimberly Park and includes a large variety of food vendors and fun. There will be live music and plenty of room to sit and enjoy an afternoon outside in the park. There will be children’s activities as well.

Picnic in the Park is held from 3-5:30pm, typically after the conclusion of the Muscatine County Fair Parade. This year live music will be provided by Brett Duncan and Robyn Hepker.
